The SAS Self-Defense Handbook was written by John “Lofty” Wiseman, a former Survival Instructor of the SAS (Special Air Service) in England. The manual provides detailed instructions, for both men and women alike, on how to handle dangerous situations. The book’s original design is type heavy and a little bit daunting. In order to make the content more welcoming to readers, I illustrated warm colored individuals who help guide the viewer throughout the book. I wanted to stress the fact that self-defense is for everyone, so by leaving the individuals faceless, it helps the viewer identify with any of the characters shown.
